Engage: Multi Level Violence Prevention Strategy
Engage is a multi-level violence prevention program, created by a statewide coalition, Missouri Partners in Prevention, with the input of campuses across Missouri and with funding and support from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Engage is meant to create a culture of care on campus and encourage community members to engage in preventing potentially harmful situations. Engage focuses on key health and safety topics including issues related to alcohol and other drug use, bias and discrimination, interpersonal violence, and mental well-being and suicide.
This in-person training will cover:
- Scenarios related to various types of violence/harm including: alcohol and other drug use, bias and discrimination, interpersonal violence, and mental well-being.
- The importance of being an engaged community member
- How students can be engaged community members in potentially harmful situations
- Challenges to acting as engaged community member
- Available resources
