Filip Garrett, M.D., FAAFP

Garret

Dr. Garrett is a native of Southwest Missouri and received his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University. He attended medical school at the University of Missouri. He completed a residency in Family Practice in Mason city, Iowa where he practiced following graduation from residency for 13 years. He returned to Missouri State University and joined the staff at the Taylor Health and Wellness Center in 2001. Dr. Garrett is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Robert Heath, M.D., FAAFP

Heath

Dr. Heath received his Bachelor of Science in Forestry at the University of Missouri. He worked in Montana as a forester for a few years before going to University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed his internship and family practice residency through Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Dr Heath recently joined the Taylor Staff after being in private practice. Dr. Heath is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Sally Hubbard, M.D.

Hubbar

Dr. Hubbard received her medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of Texas at Galveston. Some of her many interests include environmental issues and she has been a long time supporter of the Lady Bears. Dr. Hubbard is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dave Muegge, M.D.

Dr. Muegge received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri. His residency in internal medicine was completed at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Muegge is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and he enjoys helping patients improve their health and wellness.

Robert W. Scott M.D., FACP

Scott

Dr. Scott graduated with a biology degree from Harding University, Searcy, Arkansas and then completed his MD degree and residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Missouri, Dr. Scott has practiced traditional primary care internal medicine at St. John's health system in Springfield, MO, St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK and the Cox Health System back in Springfield, MO prior to joining Taylor Health and Wellness Clinic on the campus of Missouri State University. Dr. Scott's interests include medical mission trips to Central America with emphasis in Nicaragua. He also is an avid bicyclist and when time allows pursues photography. Dr. Scott has been active in the Greene County Medical Society serving as past editor of the society's journal for 10 years and as President in 2007. Dr. Scott is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Annette Wardell, M.D.

Wardell

Dr. Wardell received her undergraduate degree from Missouri State University. She then earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency through Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She returned to Missouri State University and joined the staff at the Taylor Health and Wellness Center. Dr. Wardell is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Part Time Specialists

Susan Wilson Essman, M.D.

Essman

Dr. Essman received both her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Missouri. She then completed a residency at the University of Michigan. She practiced at Cox Hospital in Springfield for 10 years before coming to Taylor Health. She has two sons and her husband is an Ophthalmologist at St John’s Hospital. Dr. Essman is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Larry Shields, M.D., FAAFP

Sheilds

Dr. Shields is a St. Louis native. He was an honors graduate in biology at St. Louis University. Dr. Shields graduated from the University of Missouri Medical School. He received his post graduate training at St. John’s Medical Center in St. Louis with additional special training in Dermatology as a member of the US Army Medical Corps. He resides with his wife Carolyn, a Missouri State graduate. He is a Fellow and Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and past President of the Southwest Missouri  Academy of Family Physicians.

Shana Del Vecchio, MSN, RN, BC, ANP

Shana

Nurse Practitioner Del Vecchio is a native of Springfield and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University. She earned her Masters degree in Nursing with Adult Nurse Practitioner certification from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Her primary interest is women’s health care—gynecologic, reproductive, and overall health and fitness. Nurse Practitioner Del Vecchio is a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with Added Qualification in Gynecologic Health Care.
